Pemimpin Indonesia akan mendedikasikan sisa masa jabatannya untuk melindungi hutan
Presiden Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono pada Konferensi Forests Indonesia pada tanggal 27 September 2011 berjanji akan mendedikasikan tiga tahun terakhir masa jabatannya untuk mengamankan hutan hujan tropis negerinya -- sebuah ikrar yang mendapat dukungan luas para partisipan acara tersebut.
Konferensi yang diselenggarakan Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) ini menjadi arena bagi 1.000 pemimpin dari kalangan pemerintah, komunitas bisnis dan masyarakat sipil, juga para donatur asing, untuk mendiskusikan masa depan wilayah hutan tropis ketiga terbesar di dunia.
