CIFOR is looking for an Intern â Digital Communications. We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to support our digital communications work. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to gain experience in a busy and dynamic communications department in a highly respected global research institution.
CIFOR is looking for a Geographic Information System (GIS) Assistant. The Geographic Information System (GIS) Assistant will be responsible for providing technical assistance in GIS to CIFOR research projects, assisting CIFOR scientists in developing, implementing and maintaining a GIS infrastructure, and performing technical work related to designing, maintaining and producing GIS data.
CIFOR is looking for a Data Management Specialist. The Data Management Specialist will interact with CIFOR scientists and partners and provide support for them on issues related to data access, management, analysis and the use of knowledge management tools. Supervise technical teams in producing quality data sets and lead data managers in research design, data collection, synthesis and analysis. Work on proposal development and funding of current active and new projects. He or she will play a key role in developing a centralized statistical services facility within CIFOR.
CIFOR is looking for a Communications Coordinator for Africa. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, the Communications Coordinator for Africa will lead the implementation of a well-funded and far-reaching communication program to raise awareness of CIFORâs research in the forestry sector in Africa. The Coordinator will work closely with CIFOR scientists across Africa to create uptake pathways for research findings, with the goal of maximizing outcomes and impact for specific research projects to target stakeholders include government officials, the private sector, civil society, donors, media and the research community.
CIFOR is looking for a Climate Change Communications Coordinator .The Climate Change Communications Coordinator will lead a well-funded global initiative to raise awareness about the crucial role that forests play in mitigating and adapting to climate change. The Coordinator will implement a global communication strategy that delivers the results from the Global Comparative Study of REDD+ (GCS-REDD+) to stakeholders worldwide. REDD+ stands for Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation.
CIFOR is looking for a Post Doctoral Fellow â Economist. Based in Brazil, the Post Doctoral Fellow will perform economic analysis of subnational REDD+ projects and national policies and measures for its Global Comparative Study (GCS) on REDD+.
CIFOR is looking for a Senior Scientist, Management of Planted Forests. The Senior Scientist will facilitate and identify strategic opportunities for research with impacts on the management of planted forests for multiple goods and services, to further realise their potential contribution to contemporary sustainable development objectives at scales from local to global, and from smallholder to landscape scales.
The work of the Scientist/Senior Scientist will focus on, but not be limited to, ILEA-related research of particular relevance to Component 5 (Impacts of trade and investment on forests and people) of the CGIAR Research Programme on Forests, Trees and Agroforestry (CRP6).
